Officers & Responsibilities


President
  • Represents the membership of the Association to outside agencies and groups, including the Small Business Administration
  • Calls and chairs all meetings
  • Responsible to the Association in all matters for adherence to the tenets of the Constitution and of any By-Laws adopted by the membership
  • Responsible for appointment of Members to ad-hoc and standing committees
  • Serves as one of the Association's representitive Disciplines
  • Serves as the Region VI representative to the National Small Business Institute Directors' Association
 
President Elect
  • Automatically progresses from Vice President Programs
  • Responsible for stepping in for the President when the President is unable to complete his/her responsibilities
  • Assists the President with any tasks requested to enhance the performance of the Association
 
First Vice President Programs
  • Determines and carries out the wishes of the membership concerning the conduct of the Association's meetings. This responsibility includes arrangement for facilities, lodging, program content, participants, and any other matters relating to the planning, preparation, and execution of such meetings
  • Serves with the President as a representative of the Association to the Southwestern Federation of Academic Disciplines
  • Serves as chair of the JABC (Journal Advisory Board Committee)
 
Second Vice President Membership
  • Responsible for maintaining the membership rolls for the Association, which includes the promotion of membership, maintaining membership data information, and the conduct of membership surveys
  • Provides the Secretary/Treasurer with the necessary membership information for use in connection with meetings of the Association
  • Responsible for research and publication as engaged in by the Association
 
Secretary/Treasurer
  • Responsible for safeguarding and disbursement of Association funds
  • Responsible for recording and distributing minutes of business meetings of the Association
  • Responsible for maintaining a historical record to include all Proceedings, minutes, and financial records of the Assocation
